TALE WEDNESDAY: TOQGER AU FIC - SHADOW

An AU on what happened if Right was the only one who stayed as an adult after defeating Zett.

Summary: Even now, they were still by his side; never leave.

The waves crashed on the golden sands over and over again. The cold breeze blown comforted him as he strolled by the seaside. The cloudy weather turned his body colder especially when the wind blew in his direction. Breathing the fresh air, listening to the calming sound of waves smashing the shore, it finally hit him that it was a reality such he once again had returned to his hometown. The last visit was a year ago. However, he was on his own this time as Akira was occupied with the maintenance in Rainbow Line. Facing the ocean, closing the hazel eyes, Right enjoyed the smell of the salty water, the relaxing sound of the water and the solace the wind brought.

Once he opened his eyes after a while, he saw them. His childhood friends; Tokatti, Mio, Hikari and Kagura were lined up like a straight line, two on his right side and two on his left side. Their smile and gaze was directed to him. A radiant smile was formed upon seeing them. He continued to view the sea with his companions.

“Right!”

He returned to the Earth once hearing his name. Turning around, Right was quite shocked and half confused upon seeing the caller.

“Akira? Why?”

The one in the orange jacket flashed a smile.

“I am ditching the work to play with you.”

“Huh?”

The boy in the blue jeans and red jacket was still surprised by Akira’s presence, still comprehending the situation. His eyes blinked multiple times. Akira let out a small laugh, one that was rarely shown.

“The maintenance had been completed. I am hungry. Let’s go to eat.”

Right was about to jump in joy upon hearing the word eat. Smiling, he agreed hastily to the suggestion.

“Let’s go.”

As he approached Akira, the four of them were still there. They were not real. It was their shadow, accompanying him for the past two years.
