CHILL SUNDAY: ALCHEMY OF SOULS - FLUSTER SEO YUL

Alchemy of Souls is back! To commemorate the premier of Alchemy of Souls season 2, let's recap back to one of my favorite moments. It is in episode 17 of the series.

This is a tiny Min Hyun@Seo Yul appreciation post. Min Hyun might be an idol actor but let's admit that he is not that greenhorn. He delivers his lines and believable in his role as one of the four seasons in Daeho. I think he has successfully acts as Seo Yul. I do not find any fault with his acting. It is good enough for me.

Mu-deok's sharp gaze can pierce even Captain America's shield. I understand why Yul is so terrified of her in this scene.

Mu-deok just want confirmation of the whereabouts of the umbrella that she bought for him. Yul on the other hand misunderstands that she is mad as he easily gives the umbrella to someone else.

Mu-deok's expressions are the best. She is so frustrated about Yul's answer as she asks about the umbrella. 

Jang Uk is definitely a piece of cinnamon roll. He seems like a confused child, looking at his parents fighting over trivial matter. He shows concern for Yul over Mudoek's interrogation. It also seems that he realizes that there is something wrong with the way Mu-deok questions him.

Yul is really a pitiful one. He flusters hard when Mu-deok keeps inquiring about the umbrella and the woman. He apologizes and apologizes, trying to soothe her anger by giving excuse but not giving the information that she wants. I can totally see that he is scares of Mu-deok. His face is as pale as white paper. He is too precious to be frightened like that. Mu-deok repeats the questions over and over again, and Yul can only look down, being silent, similar to a lost puppy.

Don't you just glad that Uk is there with the two of them, or Mudeok will never get any information that she wants from Yul as all she will get is excuse and sorry from Yul. It is just amazing that the conversation between Uk and Yul is so smooth whereas when it comes to Mudeok and Yul, nothing connects. It just keep buffering with no sign of loading up to 100%. I love Uk's comment on how Mu-deok's way of asking Yul is like a wife cross-examines her cheating husband. She is so demanding in this scene. I also like it that Uk teaches her on how to question Yul correctly by showing her through example. 

Finally, thanks to the son of Jang family, Jang Uk; the three of them can have proper conversation. They get into the serious part and discussing properly about So-i and umbrella. 

This scene is absolutely hilarious for me. I feel for Yul. Min Hyun did such a great job. I would like to see Min Hyun acts in another series where his character is some sort of sunny, bubbly, full of smiles as I am sure he can pull it off. His character in this drama is quite similar to his character in Live On.
