Let me introduce everyone to Detective Cona - Detective Oh Ji Hyuk.
Ji Hyuk is really like Conan (Edogawa Conan a.k.a Kudo Shinichi) in a sense that he solved case based on the hint given. He picks up the hint given by his teammates and deduces everything on the spot.
In this scene, members of Violent Crimes Unit 2 are trying to find the dead body of Jo Seong Gi as his vehicle was found burnt, but his body was nowhere to be found which they assumed has been killed.
They returns to the crime scene of five years ago, trying to find clues from day to night until the dawn the next day. They set up fire exactly where the vehicle was found. When the teammates are worried about the fact that they set fire on the crime scene, Ji Hyuk deduces the possibility of the dead body is buried exactly under the burnt vehicle.
It was such a good deduction. Kudos to the killer which they assume to be Yoo Jeong Seok for hiding the body perfectly. He is a crime reporter. In a way or two, he know the MO of police investigation. The police has been focusing on finding evidence in the burnt vehicle and everything around it, but not under the ground. The vehicle is big, takes time to move and investigation is still ongoing during that time. No one bothers to think that the dead body is in the same spot as the car. After all, the police must preserve the crime scene in case additional evidence need to be obtained. This scene is totally fun to watch. Ji Hyuk makes good use of his brain in the investigation.
For those who are avid fans of crime, police, investigation genre with subtle romance, check out The Good Detective, a 16 episodes Korean drama. It is fun drama with good character development especially the members of Violent Crimes Unit 2. Even their superintendent who you might hate in the beginning being redeemed and becomes their ally.
Have a good day, everyone. See you in Tale Wednesday.
