Hi, it’s Aika Miaka here.
First of all, I’d like to officially call it a wrap on Short Story 7: Where Love Learns to Let Go.
I don’t usually write love stories, mainly because I’ve never been quite sure how to approach them. This one, however, was inspired by a drama I watched — a familiar story of a childhood friend who harbours a long-time crush but can never be with the person she loves, simply because she is the second female lead. That sense of suppressed emotion, followed by heartbreak, reminded me how unforgettable a first love can be.
I chose to have Hiyori remain silent and not confess her feelings to Asahi, as a way of preserving their friendship. I also wanted to show that love does not always need to be spoken aloud — especially when Asahi and Hinako share a mutual love. In this case, silence felt like the kindest choice.
I’m truly glad that Hiyori was given the time to grieve her first love and to slowly let it go. Most importantly, she eventually found her Mr Right. I’m genuinely happy that Hiyori received the ending she deserved.
With this short story now closed, I’ll be continuing to write more stories. As someone who loves writing and imagining new worlds and narratives, I hope to keep sharing my work with you. I want to grow as a storyteller with each passing day — with every word I write, every sentence I form, and every chapter I complete. I’ll also be exploring a variety of stories on this blog.
I hope you’ll stay by my side on this journey.
Continuing the legacy of my short stories will be Short Story 1: There All Along. I’ll see you in the first chapter (tomorrow).
That’s all for now.
Have a good day.
