Since it is impossible to summarize the whole series up till now, let's just discuss episode 34. One of the best scene in episode 34 is during the forbidden fruit discussion. I just love this scene.
Absent-minded Kouta comes to the Druppers and start a conversation with Kaito on what exactly is the forbidden fruit. I have to agree with Kaito that the discussion on the fruit comes out of nowhere. But, I'm glad that Kaito answers the question although he's sarcastically commented on Kouta's personality on minding about every pettiest things before answering it. Kaito has always sets his mind to take the fruit no matter what, so it is not a surprise when he declares to Kouta that he fights anyone who tries to stop him from seizing the fruit. Well... "The strong preys on the weak" is his usual phrase after all.
"I don't mind with you having the fruit" - Kouta |
When Kaito puts down his cup, I thought that Kaito will gives Kouta a wake up punch for what he said. Kouta looks quite scares as he is doing something wrong by telling Kaito that.
I'm kind of understand these two guys. Kouta doesn't mind to let Kaito uses the fruit because in the first place, he has never want the fruit for himself. He is not the type that crazy for power like Professor Ryouma and Kaito. He decided to be the rider to protect the people. So, as long as the fruit can be used to save the world, he is fine with Kaito having the fruit. Furthermore, they are not enemy. These two personalities are too differ that make them just not in a good terms with each other.
As for Kaito, he has always thirst for power; to become stronger, so that no once can trample on him. Hearing Kouta said that he will give the fruit to him must be some sort of humiliation to him. I mean; he must wants to get the fruit by his own way, his own power, by fighting fair and square. He strives to be the strongest, so he does not need to Kouta to give him the fruit just like that. Something that he wants, he must get it by using his power.
This 2K (Kouta and Kaito) ... just be best friends already and agree on a few things.... and save the world. There is no need to argue about the fruit.
I'm glad that Kaito is able to suppress his anger. I love it when Kaito just calmly ridicules him for being too naive and he might not be able to get the fruit with that attitude. It is as he is telling Kouta; "No, thanks. I can get it by my own. There is no point on you giving me that fruit when I don't even sure that you can claim the fruit."
Luckily, the argument on the fruit doesn't last forever with Bandou-san stopping them and tells them to fills up their stomach first.
One of the highlight in this scene is the sad background music. I like the music, but what's with the sad music during the discussion of the fruit? Is the music indicating something bad will happen? Please don't give me tragic scenes. I have enough in Wizard, And I have enough when Micchy turns into a villain. But, the hints on Kouta turning into Overlords (just like Eiji turns into Greed) is sufficient to remind me to prepare some tissues just in case... you know...
I don't care either Kaito or Kouta gets the fruit, the most important thing is no one on the good side dies. No more Philip, Kengo, Ankh and Koyomi death-like moments... Please....
Well... that's all for now... Have a good day....
