ONE SCENE: AWESOME YAKUMO

Since I have to use my time wisely between work and blogging, I decided to post what I called as one scene where I will only talk about the one scene that I like in any episode of toku shows. I'll start with episode 33, Yakumo-centric episode.

For me, this is the best scene that truly capture my heart. The moment Yakumo devised the so called plan as 'Romeo and Juliet', I knew it will be awesome.

Yakumo is clever enough to figure out a way to get the antidote from Suzumebachi, even it's mean he has to deceived a woman's(?) feeling towards him. He uses Suzumebachi's feeling but at the same time he puts his life on the line to save Takaharu, Kasumi and Kinji.

The way he admits his crime on deceiving him, he looks calm as if nothing happen. Did he forgot that he just being poisoned a while ago? There is also possibility that Suzumebachi will change her feelings and Yakumo fails to obtain the antidote. What will happen then?

In the previous fight between Yakumo and Suzumebachi, Yakumo said to her that being a ninja means live for those dear to you and protect for those dear to you. As for Suzumebachi, sacrificing friends to achieve the goal is what a ninja is to her. Yakumo; quoting Suzumebachi uses his life as a bet for the antidote.

Yakumo then tells her that risking his life anytime is easy as abc.
These two sentences from Yakumo are contradicting between one another.
I wonder what he means by risking his life is easy? If he risks his life, it is possible that he'll die, but earlier he is the one who said to live and protect his beloved people what a ninja means.

I really love this scene. Yakumo's act is really great. He is a real ninja. His cool character surfaced in the scene. Look at the sweat because of the poison. The way he delivered that one line with a serious face and serious tone plus that sad background music, ten stars for him. He is awesome.

See, the writer should not make waste of the characters that has been created for the story. Yakumo can be cool without doing 'not clever' stuff. Those two sentences might be just a mere sentences for this episode, but the writer can use those two contradict sentences for a plot twist (although there seems no plot twist on Yakumo or any other characters). It is not wrong to go for a darker route in the storyline but can still be light-weight and fun such as Shinkenger, Gobuster and Toqger.

There is one on another episode on Yakumo that could be used for a plot twist, but I don't think it has any other meaning except for that scene (I'll discuss on this favorite scene later on).

Hikari (Toqger) and Takeru (Shinkenger) are two example of characters that I can give as a constant cool character. Those two evolved in the series but still have their original character since the first episode.

Well, that's all for now. I hope you have a good day. See you later on other ONE SCENE posts.
